This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the Level 1 badge in Gardening.
Herbs have many uses, including culinary, medical, and others. Most are pretty tough and can be a good introduction to the world of perennials.
To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
- Research your favorite herbs, and choose several that will grow well in your conditions.
- Plant seeds or transplants of your chosen herbs. You may use bought seeds or transplants, or ones you grow yourself.
- Grow the herbs to maturity, and harvest them. Some herbs may be harvested multiple times over the season.
- Optional: dry some of your herb harvest to use over the winter.
To document your completion of the BB, provide the following:
- List of your herbs, with the growing conditions they need
- Photo of your herbs being planted
- In-progress photos of the herbs growing
- Photos of harvested herbs
- Bonus: photos of your herbs being used!
